Frequently Asked Questions

So are these just stickers that I put on top of the lens cap I already have?

Not at all! We don’t want to deal with cheap stickers that’ll just peel off at inconvenient times, and we don’t want you to have to, either. We’re selling high-quality lens caps made of durable plastic upon which our designs are printed directly with UV-hardened inks. These caps are built to last.

Durable, you say? How durable?

Let’s just say that the only way that the testers were able to remove any significant portion of the printing was by gouging the cap with a rather sharp box cutter. We hope you don’t run into too many of those over the course of your photography. In any case, there’s no need to worry about the design flaking off under normal use.

No need to take our word for it, though. If you find your aren’t impressed with the build quality of your new lens cap after it arrives, let us know, and we’ll refund 100% of your order and pay for the return shipping ourselves. There’s a reason we guarantee our products for life.

Wait, a lifetime guarantee?

Yes indeed! If you purchase one of our lens caps and find it doesn’t meet your expectations in any way, that’s not your fault—it’s ours. And there’s no time limit on this policy: if the printed design somehow starts coming off your lens cap after ten years, that’s just as bad as it coming off in the first month. We’ll honor this guarantee as long as we’re in business.

Can I really trust someone who uses Canon, though?

Hey now.

There are so many sizes to choose from… You don’t have a one-size-fits-all option?

I don’t think the technology for that exists yet, but when it does, by golly we’ll be sure to stock it. In the meantime, if you need a little help figuring out which size you need, check out this handy lens cap sizing tool!

Alright, I’ve figured out the cap size for my lens, but it looks like you don’t carry that size.

We’re only listing the most common lens cap sizes right now, but if your lens happens to have a different diameter, send us an email, and we’ll see what we can do!

So those lenses and cameras in the product photos… they’re included in my purchase, right?

Um no. That’s just silly. You don’t get the models holding the cameras in the photos, either.

Which countries do you ship to?

Any the U.S. Postal Service ships to, which is over 180! We haven’t quite hardcoded every one of those countries into our checkout process, though, so if you find during the purchase process that your country isn’t supported, just let us know, and we’ll add it to the site right away!

So what’s shipping going to cost me in the U.S.?

Absolutely nothing! 😊

How should I clean my new lens cap if it gets dirty?

We’d recommend water and a soft rag. If water isn’t quite doing the trick, maybe try a small amount of rubbing alcohol instead. And this should probably go without saying, but please do make sure the cap is completely dry before using it on your lens again.

Your lens cap broke my equipment!

Seriously? How in the world could a lens cap cause your camera or lens to malfunction? In case anyone wants to make that claim, I guess we’ll have to make the following clear: by using Lens Captions products, you’re accepting all risk to your gear. In no way will Lens Captions ever be held liable for any kind of injury, loss, or damage arising from your use of the product. Not that that’s actually possible.

I know a bunch of people who’d love your products! Do you have any sort of affiliate program I could join?

We sure do! You can find our affiliate program on ShareASale.

Your current lens cap designs are awesome, but I want more! Any plans to introduce new designs later on?
