Privacy Policy

Hey. Sorry this page is a bit on the longer side. Privacy’s a big deal, though, so we want to make sure we get it right. Please let us know if you have any questions about this policy or would like us to change or delete any personal information of yours that we have. Just so there’s no confusion, whenever you see the words “we”, “us”, or “our” on this page, that’s referring to Lens Captions, an operation of Corrie Mick Photography, LLC.

Section 1 – What Do We Do With Your Information?

When you purchase something from us, we collect the personal information you give us, such as your name, address, and email address, only to fulfill the buying/selling process. We’ll use it to provide you confirmation of your order, ship your purchase, and provide tracking information on the shipment. If you give us permission, we may also send you marketing emails about new products and other updates.

When you browse our website, we’ll also automatically receive your computer’s IP address to provide us with information about your browser and operating system, which we’ll use to improve our website experience.

Section 2 – Consent

When you give us personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery, or return a purchase, you’re implying that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.

If we request your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we’ll be sure to ask you directly for your expressed consent.

If at any time you’d like to withdraw your consent for us to contact you or to store the personal information you’ve given us, send us a message, and we’ll remove your information from our records as soon as possible.

Section 3 – Shopify

Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products to you.

Accordingly, your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases, and the general Shopify application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase (i.e., you enter your credit card information directly on our site instead of paying through a third party like Amazon Payments), then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS), using secure socket layer (SSL) technology and stored with AES-256 encryption. Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that, the data is deleted. Incidentally, we (Lens Captions) have no access to your credit card information in any part of this process.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.

For more information on Shopify’s privacy practices, check out their privacy policy.

Section 4 – Third-Party Services

We will only provide your information to third-party providers to the extent necessary to perform the services they provide to us. Below is a list of all such third-party services we currently use and have used in the past, with explanations of what we use them for and links to their respective privacy policies. We may add new service providers to this list here from time to time without letting you know as we work to improve our business.
